Introduction
Message from the Chief Inclusion & Equity Officer
Welcome to the University of Evansville’s Center for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion.
The University of Evansville understands that diversity, equity, and inclusion shape and inform our daily interactions and how we view the world. Preparing students for a complex social world requires learning experiences that attend to the history, cultures, values, beliefs, and views of our global society.
The Center for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion is the centralized office for these efforts at the University of Evansville. The diversity mission to cultivate interpersonal trust, cross-cultural appreciation, and shared purpose across differences throughout the UE community is embedded in our policies, practices, and procedures.
We are an innovative team that develops cultural competencies, cultivates values that unite us, and produces ethical cross-cultural relationships for the betterment of our community. We remind ourselves that while much has been accomplished, diversity, equity, and inclusion are not outcomes but rather enduring processes.
By advancing our foundational values of access, equity, enrichment, and well-being, the University of Evansville affirms a diverse learning community that moves beyond tolerance, to an understanding and respect of our global humanity.
